PURPOSE: To protect a beautiful pattern on the surface, to prevent dirt, a stain, etc., and also, to allow the surface to have beautiful luster and a look of age by applying straw ashes kneaded with water on the surface of a paulownia member and drying them, and thereafter, burning instantaneously the surface.

CONSTITUTION: Straw ashes kneaded with water are applied on the surface of a doll paulownia member 1. That is, the straw ashes are put into water, only the straw ashes floating on the water surface are collected and that which is obtained by kneading them with water is applied on the surface of the doll paulownia member 1. Subsequently, after drying the surface of the doll paulownia member 1, the surface of the member 1 on which the straw ashes are applied is burned instantaneously. For instance, a flame of a torch for welding is put thereon. Next, soot is eliminated by rubbing the surface of the member 11, and wax is applied on the surface. Thereafter, the surface is rubbed. Thus a beautiful pattern on the surface is protected, and dirt, a stain, etc., are prevented.
