Abstract:
PURPOSE: To attain the corrosion resistance (particularly pitting corrosion) and weatherability of a stainless steel dull finished, hairline finished or the like without accompanying the difficulty of solution control.
CONSTITUTION: An anode polarization curve under the condition of 0.1-30% sulfuric acid concn. and the potential sweeping speed of 1mV/sec in the potential increasing direction is previously obtained. Next, anodic oxidation by sweeping potential in the increasing direction in a solution 0.1-30% in sulfuric acid with the stainless steel as an anode up to a potential equivalent to the current density of 5-207-μA/cm2 over the passive state region of the anode polarization curve at the sweeping speed of 1mV/min to 10V/sec is executed one or more times.
