To provide a surface active polymer that is just blended in a hydrophobic liquid and can suppress cissing and dramatically improve defoaming properties.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a surface active polymer containing a compound of formula (1) as an essential constituent monomer. R1 is a residue obtained by removing a hydrogen atom from a hydroxy compound, AO is a C2-4 oxyalkylene, n is an integer of 1-100, m is an integer of 1-8.
