Title:
SURGE ABSORBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2512887
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a surge absorber which can be reset manually at the end of intrusion of overcurrent and provided with a thermal switch causing no insufficient contact due to vibration by composing one or both of a conductive spring piece and a conductive hook piece of heat responsive pieces.
CONSTITUTION: A thermal switch 21 is inserted into an input line 11 of a surge absorbing element 14. The switch 21 comprises a conductive spring piece 22 having base end secured to any one of first and second leads 17, 18a, 18b and a conductive spring piece 22 provided with a stop part 22a at its tip end, and a conductive hook piece 23 having base end secured to any one of first and second leads 17, 18a, 18b and the leading end provided with a stop part 22a. In such surge absorber, any one or both of the conductive spring piece 22 and the conductive hook piece 23 are made of heat responsive pieces. Consequently, the circuit can be interrupted quickly upon application of overvoltage or overcurrent and the circuit can be reset automatically for some extent of overcurrent by manually pushing in the spring piece.
