Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a surgical drape installed with a radio frequency coil to enable magnetic resonance imaging to be carried out during surgical procedure.
CONSTITUTION: A drape 14 is formed with two sheets 31 and 32 made of a sterilized soft material, and an exposed surface 33 of the drape is coated with an adhesive to adhere the drape to the skin of a patient. A soft radio frequency coil 18, structured to tune in the Larmor frequency, is enclosed between the two sheets. This radio frequency coil surrounds an area 29 within the drape for dissection in the operation of the patient. The radio frequency coil is covered and protected by a layer 26, which is made of a material that resists against breaking-in of operational instruments used in the operation.
