Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a corporeal tissue to be clamped between upper and lower jaws and minimize the bending or twisting tendency of the upper jaw.
SOLUTION: This surgical instrument consists of a tip work body with a frame 11, a long shaft 12, first and second jaws 19, 22, a post cooperatively engaged with an end part 14 near the second jaw 22 supported by a slot 26 provided on the side wall of a channel included as part of the first jaw 19, a pusher element installed near the end part near the second jaw 22, and an actuator 15 for moving the pusher element from a forward position to a backward position. If the pusher element is moved backward, the post is supported by the slot on the side wall and the second jaw 22 is moved from a closed position to an open position. The combination of the cooperatively working elements of the surgical instrument is equipped with a convenient and simple mechanism for clamping or grasping a tissue between the jaws.
