Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fitting technique for removably fitting a slat of a shoe and slat sorter to a wheel assembly in a simple and easy-to-use manner and in a strong structure.SOLUTION: A positive displacement sorter includes a plurality of parallel laterally elongated slats and a pair of wheel assemblies, each wheel assembly interconnecting common ends of the plurality of slats, thereby defining an endless web that moves in a longitudinal direction. An upper surface of the web defines an article conveying surface. A plurality of pusher shoes move along the slats to laterally displace an article on a conveying surface. A plurality of fitting mechanisms are provided, so that the end of one slat is fitted to one wheel assembly by each of the fitting mechanisms, and each of the fitting mechanisms includes a shoulder part, a collar, and at least one lock member. The collar is engaged with the shoulder part, so that the slat is held to the wheel assembly, and the collar is held to the shoulder part by the lock member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
