Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the shielding relation among a plurality of vehicles being unable to be detected, even though the detection accuracy of vehicles can be improved by either a ranging sensor or an image sensor, for example a road condition that is located at two lanes ahead cannot be grasped, under a road environment having at least three lanes. SOLUTION: The shielding relation among a plurality of target objects is detected, based on the distance to the target objects that are located on an arbitrary straight line with a measurement origin O in a wide-angle scanning ranging sensor 1, as a starting point in the target objects that are detected by an object detecting section 3.
