To provide a survey system, capable of transmitting guide light over a sufficiently wide range even with low power, in a survey system for transmitting the guide light, giving the information of the direction of a target from a target side to survey equipment.
The survey system comprises a target 60, having a reflex reflector 62 for reflecting the light to the arriving direction thereof, and the survey equipment 50, having an autocollimator for matching the collimation axis of the reflex reflector with that of a telescope 54. The target comprises a guide-light light transmitting unit 66, for radiating a guide light 64, and scans widely in the horizontal direction as the guide light and fan beams with a narrow vertical width in the vertical direction. The survey equipment has a direction detector 56 for receiving the guide light and detect the direction of the light transmitting unit for the guide light, and a preparation means for collimation, for directing the telescope to the reflex reflector is provided, based on the output signals from the direction detector, before starting the autocollimator.
