PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency in recovering suspended matter, to reduce the recovering time and to release a workman from a dirty dangerous operation.

CONSTITUTION: A case 4 is set in a settling basin, etc., a motor is then started to rotate a scraper blade 4a, and the suspended matter 1 on the water surface is scraped into the case 4 along a reticular guide plate 4c. Water and the suspended matter are separated, the water is discharged outside the case 4, and the suspended matter is dropped into the inner part of the case 4, sucked by a suction hose 2 and recovered. In this case, a flow toward the case 4 is generated on the water surface by the rotation of the blade 4a, and consequently the suspended matter on the water surface flows successively into the case 4.
