PURPOSE: To carry out cooking, reading a book, in comfortable manner by fixing a bookstand at the lower part of a sideboard body an installing the bookstand so as to be accommodated into a stand accommodation part formed on the sideboard body.

CONSTITUTION: When a person desires to perform cooking, reading a book B, he releases the engagement between a hook 51 and a projection 16 by moving a lever 5, and after a bookstand 2 is turned downward to the position regulating by a stopper link 4, the book B is laid on the bookstand 2. In this using state, an illumination lamp 8 comes on through the release of the engagement between the hook 51 of the lever 5 and the projection 16. Further, when reading the book B is unnecessary, the bookstand 2 is set to a nearly horizontal state and accommodated into a stand accommodation part (a), and the hook 51 of the lever and the projection 16 are engaged, and an accommodation state is maintained. In this accommodation state, the illumination lamp 6 is put OFF, because of the engagement between the hook 51 to the lever and the projection 16.
