Abstract:
PURPOSE: To maintain stiffness high in the car width direction, and also appropriately absorb severe impact in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle in the vehicle suspension arm assembled with a body on its inner side end at two places in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: A lower arm 10 is formed up by combining an upper member 21 with a lower member 22. The lower arm 10 is assembled with a body by body side mounting sections 10a and 10b provided for its inner side end at two places in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle, and concurrently it supports a wheel at its wheel installation section 10c. A plurality of trough sections 21a and 22a are provided, which are extended in the direction that its inside end is connected to its outside end. In this case, The upper and lower members 21 and 22 are deformed only against severe impact force applied to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, so that the impact force is thereby effectively absorbed.
