To provide a composition which is a suspension of inorganic particles in water or an organic medium and is improved in suspension uniformity, long-term stability of the suspension uniformity and re-suspension ability, without bringing about undesirable consequences to the suspension composition such as viscosity increase, foaming and cost increase.

A hydrotalcite compound or a synthetic chalcoalumite compound having an average particle size of 1/10-1/2 of that of the inorganic particles such as alumina or silica present in the suspension composition is added to the suspension composition. The permanent surface charge of the particles of these compounds improves the suspension ability of the inorganic particles in the suspension composition, which prevents sedimentation, coagulation or solidification over time due to natural sedimentation from occurring.
