Abstract:

PURPOSE: To maintain effective lever ratio approximately constant within the stroke range of a suspension system like a rear 2 axle suspension system, particularly a 4 spring type tandem suspension system of a heavy truck or the like by constituting springs for rear and front axles to have eyeends at both ends.

CONSTITUTION: A front bracket 21, center bracket 22 supporting rotatably an equalizer 8 and rear bracket 23 are respectively mounted n a chassis 10 for a suspension system located between axles 2F, 2R coupled with wheels 1F, 1R and the chassis 10. Also, on the respective axles 2F, 2R are mounted front and rear axle springs 7F, 7R by U-bolts 3F, 3R through lower seats 5F, 5R and upper seats 6F, 6R. Front and rear eyeends of the front axle spring 7F are respectively connected to the bracket 21 and a shackle 9F by a pin and front and rear eyeends of the rear axle spring 7R are respectively connected to the equalizer 8 and shackle 9R by a pin.
