Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject agent capable of forming uniformal wet nonwoven fabrics, comprising a specific polyether-polyester block copolymer and a polyorganosiloxane.
CONSTITUTION: First, a copolymerization is conducted between a mono to hexahydric aliphatic hydroxy compound such as ethylene glycol and a 2-4C alkylene oxide such as ethylene oxide to form a polyether block made up of a polyoxyalkylene unit containing ≥40mol% of oxyethylene unit at 5-200 moles per single OH group of the aliphatic hydroxy compound; secondly, ε-caprolactone is subjected to ring opening polymerization to polymerize the product with the terminal hydroxyl groups of the polyether block to form a polyester block made up of polyoxycaproyl unit, thus obtaining a polyether-polyester block copolymer in which the molar ratio of the total recurring oxycaproyl units to the total recurring oxyalkylene units is (1:1) to (1:10). Next, 100 pts.wt. of this block copolymer is blended with 100-250 pts.wt. of a polyorganosiloxane to obtain the objective hydrophilicizing agent.
