PURPOSE: To prevent the slip-off of the connection between a connecting rod and a plunger by press-fitting the cylindrical part of the joint edge part of the connecting rod into the cylindrical opened port of a plunger joint receiving part and sliding-engaging a spherical projection surface and a spherical recessed surface and connecting the connecting rod and the plunger.
CONSTITUTION: A ball joint 65a which forms the joint edge part of the a connecting rod 65 consists of a cylinder part 130 and a spherical projecting surface part 131 which are coaxial. Since a pump plunger 62 has a joint receiving part for the ball joint 65a, a bearing hole 132 having a spherical recessed surface 132a is formed within a center angle range over 180°, and the diameter D of the cylinder part 130 is slightly larger than the diameter (d) of the cylindrical opened port 133 of the bearing hole 132. The ball joint 65 is inserted into the bearing hole 132 through the press-fitting of the cylindrical part 130 into a cylindrical opening 133, and the connecting rod 65 swings, having the ball joint 65a as supporting point, according to the tilt of a pump shoe 64, and the slip-off of the connection is prevented even if each axis line of the plunger 62 and the connecting rod 65 deflect. Therefore, assembly can be facilitated.
