PURPOSE: To obtain a woven or knitted fabric having various characteristics and further sweat absorbing properties, a refreshing feeling and coloring properties by using multifilament yarn of synthetic fibers of diverse forms.

CONSTITUTION: Conjugate multifilament yarn is constituted from two or more kinds of multifilament yarns of synthetic fibers having different single yarn deniers, and a yarn having 0.7-0.3 (d) single yarn denier, 1.4-4.0 degree of modification of yarn and ≥3 and ≤12 continuous channels in the length direction of yarn is mainly arranged in the outer layer part of a two layer structure yarn and a multifilament yarn having 0.1-1.0 (d) single yarn denier and the same or smaller thickness than that of the outer layer part is chiefly laid in the inner layer part to give a sweat absorbing woven or knitted fabric of the two layer structure. Improvement in colorability with dye, durability of various processings and lightening are attained besides high sweat absorption and quick drying properties.
