Title:
SWELLING METHOD OF SODA ASH SLAG
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5931806
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To swell efficiently soda ash slag in a short time and to enable the reduction in the size of swelling installations by immersing the soda ash slag as it is without grinding in water and blowing air further into the immersion water.

CONSTITUTION: The soda ash slag used for desulfurization and dephosphorization of molten iron or molten steel is immersed in the stage of grains or lump in water and air is blown into the immersion water preferably at 1W10l/min blowing rate in each 1kg of the soda ash slag, whereby the soda ash slag is efficiently swollen in a short time and the continuous and efficient removal of the slag mud is made possible. The reduction in the size and number of swelling installations is obtd. and this method contributes to the realization of the continuous process for recorvering valuable metals from the soda ash slag. The water temp. is adequately kept at about 4W40°C and the amt. of water is made about 4W10 times the weight of the slag in the above-mentioned swelling.
