A swing-type gate 10 for a storm surge is installed in a gateway 12 of revetment 11 and the like on land. A floating body-like door body 1 swingable to a brought-down position D and a raised position U is housed in a pit 13. The swing-type gate for the storm surge includes a first fixing belt 4 which inhibits the door body 1 from being moved to a land side and which serves as a supporting point when the gate is raised at a predetermined angle to the land side, a second fixing belt 5 which inhibits the door body 1 from being moved to a sea side, and an anchor belt 6 which keeps the door body 1 in the raised position U against stream flow pressure from the sea side.
