An air curtain is formed by arranging a plurality of combustion air blowing ports 3 in the axial direction of the body 1 of a swinging melting furnace at the position of the melting furnace at which a combustible object to be melted blown into the furnace together with a gas through an introducing port 2 comes into collision with the furnace wall. It is preferable to adjust the arranging pitch of the ports 3 to ≤5 times of the diameters D of the ports 3 and the width W of the air curtain in the axial direction to ≥1.2 times of the width (w) of the introducing port 2 in the axial direction. The air curtain has the effect of physically separating the object to be melted from the furnace wall and improving the temperature in the vicinity of the introducing port 2 by accelerating the combustion.
