To provide a switch device with safety secured by structuring an operating part separable from a contact part only when contact points are in an OFF-state and kept in an OFF-state after being separated.
The switch device includes an operating part 2 with an operating handle 5 and a contact part 3 coupled in free separation with the operating part 2, for carrying out changeover of contact points of the contact part 3 by rotating operation of the operating handle 5. The device further includes: an operating shaft 6 rotating in linking with operation of the operating handle 5; a cam member for contact operation 21 housed in the contact part 3 and rotating in linking with the operating shaft 6 to carry out changeover of contact points; and an anti-fall-off mechanism allowing the operating shaft 6 to be pulled off the cam member for contact operation 21 in case of the contact points in an OFF-state and inhibiting the operating shaft 6 from being pulled off the cam member for contact operation 21 in case of the contact points in an ON-state.
