To improve operability, to reduce cost and to make the camera compact and inexpensive by constituting a main power source switch and two kinds of photographing mode changeover switch in the camera of a switch having simple structure.

A switch knob 11 capable of slidably moving is provided at a part of a camera main body where a power source off state and the state of a 1st or a 2nd photographing mode are selected. A detection means for detecting a position selected by slidably moving the knob 11 out of the power source off state and the state of the 1st or the 2nd photographing mode is constituted of a conductive plate member with a brush contact piece 16 and a printed circuit board 17. The position where the power source off state is attained is set in the center of the moving range of the knob 11. Then, a lock button 12 for restricting the movement of the knob 11 at the position where the power source off state is attained is provided. An elastic piece 16g provided in the conductive plate member with the brush contact piece is used also as an energizing member energizing the button 12 in a movement restricting direction.
