To provide a switch structure for an electric appliance which can always carry out a switching operation correctly by eliminating a sliding switch from being unable to be switched or falling in an occurrence of continuity failure due to a fragment or foreign matter.
The sliding switch 9 is arranged inside a case body 2, and a switch knob 10 is provided on an exterior surface of the case body 2. The sliding switch 9 is composed from a housing 11 and a slider 12 stored inside the housing 11. An operating projection 16 on the slider 12 is projected on the exterior surface of the housing 11 from a switching groove 15. The switch knob 10 is provided with an operating part 20 exposed on the exterior surface of the case body 2, a connector 22 engaged with the operating projection 16, and a shielding body 23 covering an opening surface of the switching groove 15. Therefore, the switching groove 15 can be closed in a state with the shielding body 23 coming into a sliding contact with an opening periphery edge wall of the switching groove 15 in all stroking range of the switch knob 10.
