To provide a switch with a lock mechanism which can eliminate the risk of losing a lock member and can be locked and unlocked easily, and which is also capable of locking the handle with certainty.
At the side of a handle 4 which opens/closes a movable contact piece 11 of a switch, an eaves-like overhang part 20 is formed integrally with the handle. A notched portion 21 is formed on the overhang part 20. A lock lever 6 which is sprung upward by a spring 24 is provided at a position adjacent to the overhang part 20. A locking protrusion 25 is provided on the lock lever 6 at a position on the side of the handle. When the handle is located at one position, the locking protrusion 25 engages with the notched portion 21 of the overhang part 20 so as to lock the handle operation in another direction, whereas it abuts against a lower face of the overhang part 20 so as to permit the handle operation when the handle is located at the other position.
