Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron beam sterilizing device which enables adequate and uniform irradiation of all surfaces of a package which has a neck portion where a cap is located, a tapering shoulder portion, and a body portion terminated by a bottom of a container.SOLUTION: An electron-generating filament and/or a grid of an electron beam sterilizing device comprises at least two individually operational portions for variation of a current and/or profile of an output electron beam, the portions including a radially inner portion and a radially outer portion, thereby enabling adequate and uniform electron beam irradiation.
