Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switched reluctance motor in which a rotor is made on standby constantly in a forward torque generating region in order to prevent the rotor from rotating reversely to a specified rotating direction, and to provide its initial driving method.
SOLUTION: The standby position of the rotor 100 of the switched reluctance motor is detected and if the standby position of the rotor 100 is in a region for generating torque reversely to a desired rotating direction, the rotor 100 is moved to a forward torque generating region by applying an arranging pulse to a stator 200 and then the rotor 100 is rotated forward by being applied with a driving pulse. According to this arrangement, the stability and reliability of motor control are ensured and the durability and accuracy of an apparatus incorporating a motor are enhanced.
