To provide a switching apparatus capable of facilitating a disconnection operation, being downsized, and preventing generation of sparks at disconnection.
A switching apparatus has: a mechanical main switch 9 for disconnecting a power supply circuit; an interlock switch 11 outputting a disconnection signal to exterior before the main switch is disconnected; a base material 3 with an annular groove 19 formed on a surface thereof; a housing 5 having a wall part 23 inserted into the annular groove of the base material; and a lever 7 rotatably supported by one member of the base material and the housing and engaged with an engaging part 43 formed in the other member, and sliding the wall part of the housing in a depth direction of the annular groove by a rotation operation. The main switch and the interlock switch have fixed terminals 33 and 27 fixed to the base material 3, and movable terminals 31 and 25 fixed to the housing, respectively. When the lever is rotated to slide the housing in a direction of separating from the base material, the interlock switch is disconnected prior to the main switch.
