The switching device is equipped with an engine starting switch 4 for starting the engine of a riding means of a compact type marine or the like, an engine stopping switch 5 for forcibly stopping the engine when a driver drops out from the riding means, and a neural switch 6 for detecting the neutral position of an operating lever 2 capable of oscillatingly operating to arbitrarily perform the control of a driving force of the engine. The switching device disposed in an operating device 1 having the operating lever 2 is characterized in that the engine starting switch 4, the engine stopping switch 5 and the neutral switch 6 are integrated to constitute a unit 3 and disposed in the operating device 1.
