To achieve a configuration for preventing damage on a switch element reliably and more simply even if a large pressing force is applied, in a switching device including a switch element which can be operated by pressing operation.

A switching device 1 includes a case 10, a switch element 40 housed in the case 10, a displacement piece 20 provided as a part of the case 10, a soft member 30 being stuck to the displacement piece 20, and a rib 14 provided integrally with the case 10. When pressing operation is performed, the displacement piece 20 deforms flexibly to the switch element 40 side and the soft member 30 approaches the switch element 40 while deforming compressively thus pressing the switch element 40. When the displacement piece 20 displaces further to the switch element 40 side and reaches a predetermined position, the displacement piece 20 abuts against the rib 14 and further flexible deformation thereof to the switch element 40 side is restricted.
