Title:
SWITCHING ELEMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0273677
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal switch at a temperature lower than before by extending magnetic flux coming out of a permanent magnet inward by the diamagnetic effect of a superconductor in the condition that the temperature is lower than the transition temperature of the superconductor so as to separate the lead of a ferromagnetic substance from the lead of a diamagnetic substance. CONSTITUTION:This is composed of a permanent magnet 1, a superconductor 2, a lead consisting of a ferromagnetic substance such as Ni-Fe alloy, and a lead 4 wherein copper being diamagnetic substance is used. Hereupon, if the transition temperature of the superconductor 2 is defined as Tc, when the temperature is higher than Tc the magnetic filed from the permanent magnet does not reach the lead and the leads 3 and 4 are contacting with each other. And when the temperature lowers and becomes lower than Tc, the phenomenon that the magnetic flux coming out of the permanent magnet extends inward by the diamagnetic effect of the superconductor 2 appears. Furthermore, there is also an effect by the diamagnetic effect of the superconductor 2 working directly, and the magnetic field reaches the lead 3, and receiving the force of the magnetic field the lead 3 separates from the lead 4, whereby it can be made a switch.
