Abstract:
PURPOSE:To limit the output of a switching power source by detecting the junction temperature of a rectifying diode of the power source, and limiting it by an output voltage controller. CONSTITUTION:A switching power source circuit has a voltage conversion transformer 2, a main switch 3, a rectifying diode 4 connected to the secondary side of the transformer, a smoothing filter 5 and an output voltage controller 6, and a load circuit 7 is connected to the output side of the filter 5. In this case, the diode 4 has rectifiers 4a-4b, and contains a temperature detecting diode 4c. Further, the controller 6 provided in parallel with the circuit 7 controls to turn ON, OFF the switch 3 by an IC for integrating an error amplifier 5a, pulse width forming comparators 6b-6c, a temperature detector 6e, a driver 6f and a triangular wave oscillator, etc. Thus, if the temperature of the diode 4 exceeds a limiting value, the output power of the power source is limited.
