Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply device that can perform a soft switching operation with a small number of components for a synchronous rectification step-down chopper circuit having a high breakdown voltage, and enables high efficiency, low noise and low cost.SOLUTION: A switching power supply device is configured to have a main switching element 14, a commutation element 16, an output choke coil 18 and an output capacitor 20. The inductance of the output choke coil 18 is set to such a predetermined value that choke coil current IL flowing in the output choke coil 18 flows in both of a positive direction and a negative direction within one period of switching when the output current is not more than a rated value. A switching control circuit 24 controls the main switching element 14 and the commutation element 16 to be complementarily turned on and off at a predetermined switching period with a dead time therebetween, thereby soft-switching the main switching element 14 and the commutation element 16.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
