Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of an RCC-type switching power supply unit by reducing its oscillation frequency in standby state.
SOLUTION: In the RCC-type switching power supply unit, MOSFET 4 is connected with the primary side of a transformer 1, and the MOSFET 4 is brought into self-excited oscillation by the output voltage of a bias winding 8. A rectifying and smoothing circuit 10 is connected with the bias winding 8. The power supply unit is provided with a mode selection circuit 11 that is turned on or off depending on whether the rectifying and smoothing voltage is not less than a certain voltage, and a turn-on delay circuit 12 that, when the mode selection circuit detects the smoothing output voltage being less than the certain voltage, delays the output voltage of the bias winding 8 and outputs it to the control terminal of the MOSFET 4.
