Title:
SYMBOL DEMODULATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS584485
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent misreading, by reading a bar code symbol in 1/4 unit so that the said bar code symbol can be read at any location and providing lateral lines at upper and lower end of the symbol code.

CONSTITUTION: The time width of white/black for an input signal is measured at a counter 4 and the result is stored in a shift register 5. The normality of the data is discriminated at check sections 10, 11, 12 and 13. If a normal data, a control section 14 sets a gate 25 via an output control section 24 to store the data in the register 5 to buffers 29 and 30. When data for two characters' share is stored in the buffers 29 and 30, the section 24 opens a gate 33 to output the data in the buffers 29 and 30 via a demodulation section 35. No misreading can be caused by providing lateral lines having ≥ two times the reference width at the upper and lower end of the bar code symbol.
