Abstract:
To provide a synergistic dispersant.SOLUTION: A lubricant composition containing an additive composition and a method for using the same in a soot generating engine. The lubricant composition comprises a base oil and an additive composition, both of which contain, based on the total weight of the lubricant composition, (a) at least 0.05 wt.% of a first dispersant which is a reaction product of a hydrocarbyl-dicarboxylic acid or anhydride with at least one polyamine; and (b) at least 0.05 wt.% of a second dispersant which is a reaction product of a hydrocarbyl-dicarboxylic acid or anhydride with at least one polyamine, wherein the reaction product is post-treated with an aromatic carboxylic acid or the like or a non-aromatic dicarboxylic acid or anhydride.SELECTED DRAWING: None
