Abstract:
To efficiently synthesize 2,5-diformylfuran via 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural from a raw material derived from biomass.SOLUTION: When synthesizing 2,5-diformylfuran, the synthesis method has: a hydrothermal treatment step of producing a reaction liquid containing 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural by subjecting a raw material containing carbohydrate derived from biomass to hydrothermal treatment using a mixed liquid of an organic liquid and water as a medium in the presence of one or more kinds of salts of alkali metal salts and alkali earth metal salts or in the presence of these salts and a base metal salt; and a technology of efficiently producing 2,5-diformylfuran by converting the reaction liquid containing 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural into 2,5-diformylfuran while suppressing alteration of 5-hydroxy-2-methyl furfural.SELECTED DRAWING: None
