Title:
SYNTHESIS OF TRIETHYLENEDIAMINE AND PIPERAZINE USING ZEOLITE CATALYST MODIFIED WITH SILICONCONTAINING COMPOUND
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3883326
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain triethylenediamine (TEDA) and piperazine(PIP) in high yield by bringing a nitrogen-containing compound into contact with hydrogen cation or ammonium type specific pentasil zeolite at a high temperature.
SOLUTION: (A) An amine compound which is ethanolamine, ethyleneamine, piperazine, morpholine or a mixture thereof is passed through the surface of (C) hydrogen cation or ammonium type pentasil zeolite (e.g. crystalline aluminosilicate), preferably ZSM-5 zeolite, preferably under 0.001-200 atom pressure at 100-450°C to provide the objective compound. Furthermore, in the component C, a molar ratio of silica/metal oxide is preferably ≥12:1.
