Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new synthetic chalco alumite type compd. capable of finding various uses in accordance with the structure and physical properties of the compd., e.g. the increased anion exchange capacity by substituting a monovalent Li ion for part of the conventional known divalent metallic ions.
SOLUTION: Water-soluble Al and Li salts an one or more kinds of compds. solbuble in water in the pH range of about 4-7 and selected from among Zn, Cu, Ni and Mg salts are brought into alkali coprecipitation reaction at about pH 4-7 and 10-50°C and the resultant coprecipitate is brought into hydrothermal reaction at the same pH and 80-170°C to obtain the objective synthetic chalco alumite type compd. represented by the formula (where M2+ is one or more among Zn2+, Cu2+, Ni2+ and Mg2+, 0.6<a<1.2, 0<x<1.4, 11<b<13, An- is SO42-, HPO42-, CO32-, SiO32-, SO32-, HPO32-, NO3-, H2PO4- or OH-, 0.5<c<1.2 and 1≤m≤4). The surface of the compd. is treated with a surface treating agent such as a higher fatty acid if necessary.
