Title:
SYNTHETIC LEATHER USING POLYURETHANE RESIN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3119310
Kind Code:
B
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject synthetic leather excellent in surface smoothness and transparency by providing a fibrous base fabric with a film consisting of a polyurethane resin prepared by reaction between a specific silicone-based single-terminated dihydroxymacromonomer, specific diol and organic diisocyanate.
CONSTITUTION: Firstly, a polyurethane resin excellent in surface smoothness and transparency is prepared by reaction between (A) a single-terminated dihydroxymacromonomer 2000-50000 in molecular weight produced by radical polymerization of (1) a (meth)acryloyl group-contg. silicone and, if needed, (2) another radical-polymerizable monomer (e.g. methyl methacrylate) in the presence of a mercaptan-based chain transfer agent having two hydroxyl groups and one mercapto group, (B) a long chain polyhydroxy compound 500-5000 in molecular weight and (C) an organic diisocyanate. Thence, a solution of this resin is applied on a release paper followed by drying, and a fibrous base fabric is then laminated with the resulting release paper through an adhesive followed by aging and then peeling off the release paper, thus affording the objective clear synthetic leather with high mechanical strength.
