Abstract:

To synthesize high purity titanium dioxide particles having a high photocatalytic activity without agglutinating product particles and mixing impurities, and to synthesize high purity titanium dioxide particles having an amorphous structure.

In this invention, the titanium dioxide particles or ultrafine particles are synthesized by irradiating a laser to a metallic irradiated subject in the atmosphere containing an oxygen gas. Moreover, the means for solving the problems is to change a flow rate of oxygen and/or inert gas, changing the pressure of the atmosphere.
