To provide highly versatile synthetic methods capable of synthesizing serine, alanine and cystine (and/or cysteine) regio and stereoselectively labeled with stable isotopes with all kinds of labeling patterns in a high asymmetric yield at a relatively low cost.
The serine labeled with the stable isotope at a desired position can be obtained by using a particular glycine derivative and a formic acid derivative to synthesize a dehydroserine derivative labeled with a stable isotope and subjecting the same to asymmetric reduction. The alanine and the cystine each labeled with the stable isotope at a desired position can be obtained by converting a functional group in a side chain of the serine labeled with the stable isotope prepared by the above process.
