Abstract:

PURPOSE:To obtain a synthetic resin composition which can form a high- hardness molding of a marble-like appearance when cured by using a polyol polyallyl carbonate as the main matrix and mixing this matrix with a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate resin and an inorganic filler. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin composition useful for artificial marble or the like is produced by mixing 10-60/desirably 10-40 pts.wt. polyol polyallyl carbonate monomer (e.g. diethylene glycol bisallyl carbonate) with 1-30, desirably 1-20 pts.wt. poly(meth)acrylic acid derivative (e.g. tripropylene glycol dimethacrylate) and 10-89,desirably 40-89 pts.wt. inorganic filler (of a mean particle diameter of usually 1-30mum, e.g. particulate aluminum hydroxide).
