Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a synthetic resin material used in the handle of a knife or kitchen knife, other functional part, a building material or a furniture material, having an uneven surface contributing to slip resistance and not losing unevenness even when exposed to long-term friction.

CONSTITUTION: A hemp fabric 2 formed by weaving thick hemp yarns 1 with a diameter of 1-5mm is impregnated with a synthetic resin such as a thermosetting resin, for example, a phenol resin or a melamine resin or a thermoplastic resin and the synthetic resin is cured to form a molded base material. The surface of the molded fabric 4 is further ground to emboss the hemp yarns in a stripe like state.
