Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin molded article having good machinability capable of giving, at the same cutting speed as that in the case of a conventional synthetic wood, a master model which does not suffer a change in its shape on packing molding sand in the master model by a high pressure molding machine.
SOLUTION: The objective synthetic resin molded article comprises 30-60 pts. mass, based on 100 pts. mass of the molded article, of an inorganic filler having a Mohs' hardness of 2 or less and has a cutting resistance of 130-210 N, a flexural modulus of elasticity of 40,000-80,000 kgf/cm2, an Izod impact strength of 5-12 kgf.cm/cm2 and an average surface roughness of 10 μm or less. Preferably the density is 1.3-1.7 g/cm3.
