Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a synthetic resin product which has a joint with high reliability, has high design freedom, can be reduced in cost and does not need annealing in the production steps.
CONSTITUTION: A synthetic resin product made by joining two or more resin moldings by fusion, wherein at least one of the moldings is formed from a methacrylic resin composition comprising a mixture of 20-90wt.% methacrylic resin and 1-80wt.% methacrylic two-layer polymer specified as follows: the inner layer comprises a polymer composed mainly of methyl methacrylate (MMA) units and having a viscosity-average molecular weight (Mv) of 500,000 to 5,000,000 or a polymer composed mainly of MMA units containing 0.1-10-wt.% polyfunctional monomer; the outer layer coxnprises a polymer composed mainly of MMA and having an Mv of 50,000 to 300,000; the weight ratio of the inner layer to the outer layer is (1:9) to (9:1); the glass transition temperature is 50-120°C; and the mean particle diameter is 200-5,000&angst .
