Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a synthetic surfactant prepared by compounding choline phosphoglyceride, an acidic phospholipid, and a fatty acid at specific ratios.

CONSTITUTION: The objective synthetic surfactant can be prepared by compounding (A) 53.9W87.8 (w/w)% chloine phosphoglyceride [e.g. 1,2-dipal mitoylglycero-(3)-phosphocholine] (based on the whole composition), (B) 4.8W38.2% acidic phospholipid [e.g. 1,2-diacyl-sn-glycero-(3)phosphate] and (C) 7.0W26.2% fatty acid (e.g. free fatty acid such as palmitic acid, an alkali metal salt such as sodium stearate, ethyl palmitate, palmitic acid amide, etc.}, kneading the components, and drying the obtained mixture. A remedy for pulmo nary surfactant-deficient atelectasis, especially atelectasis caused by swallowing foreign materials can be prepared by using the surfactant as an active compo nent. Dose: 50W1,000mg/dose for children and 500W5,000mg/dose for adult.
