Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain required power relativity by controlling a parameter on which the power of respective signal light beams relies based on the spectrum of monitored branch light and fixedly holding power relativity.
SOLUTION: The plural optical transmitters 12 of a transmitting station respectively and mutually output signal light beams being different in wave length and an optical multiplexer 18 executes the wave length division multiplexing(WDM) of the signal light beams so as to generate WDM signal light. Then, an optical beam splitter 32 which is connected to the output port of the optical multiplexer 18 in terms of action branches WDM signal light into first and second kinds of light and a spectral monitor 34 monitors the spectrum of the first kind of light in a band adding the wave length of the respective signal light beams. Moreover, a control circuit 36 controls the parameter on which the power of the respective signal light beams relies based on the monitored spectrum, power relativity in WDM signal light is fixedly held and the transmitting station outputs second branch light.
