PURPOSE: To provide a high-speed inexpensive device by composing it of a device for estimating the logarithm of probability of every judgement and the logarithm of cost, a device for generating a ratio (probability/cost) for every judgement by subtracting the logarithm of cost from the logarithm of probability and a device for generating a priority value for every judgement by comparing these ratios.
CONSTITUTION: Success counts corresponding to probability p1 and p2 are supplied to devices 51 and 53 as inputs, and time corresponding to costs c1 and c2 is supplied to devices 52 and 54 as inputs. The respective outputs of these devices are the logarithm approximation of respective inputs. Then, difference between the outputs of devices 51 and 52 is decided by a 1st parallel total subtracter 55. Similarly, difference between the outputs of devices 53 and 54 is decided by a 2nd parallel total subtracter 56. The outputs of subtracters 55 and 56 are γ1 and γ2 respectively. These outputs γ1 and γ2 are compared with each other by a comparator 57 for applying an output at the time of γ1>γ2.
