PURPOSE: To reproduce data which is reduced synchronous errors by compensating the sector signal generating timing of the succeeding sector by a timer and generating sector signals coincident with the division of sectors on a recording medium continuously.
CONSTITUTION: In response to a sector signal from an OR gate 12 through a reference counter 9 or a compensating counter 15 or an index signal impressed to an input terminal 17, an OR gate 13 resets both counters 9, 15. A flip-flop (FF) 14 is set by a sector signal at the start of each sector and reset by a data reading completion signal outputted from a processing circuit immediately after the completion of the data of each sector. If the data reading normal completion signal is not inputted, the set state of the FF14 is kept as it is. Under the set state, an AND circuit 10 is opened by the Q output of the FF14 to select the output of the reference counter 9.
