PURPOSE: To provide a loom obviating a detector on the feed side wherein the loom selects restarting, shutting down or changing weft feeders according to status in ejecting work of waste yarns if abnormality is detected with a sensor detecting the presence of the weft yarn at the downstream edge in weaving.

CONSTITUTION: This loom comprises a sensor 8 for detecting the weft, a processor 9 and a deweaving device 16 and detects thread breakage occurred in weft feeders 3, 4 and 5. If abnormality is detected at the downstream edge, the loom is temporarily stopped and, according to the detected status in two successive check-time, a central unit 10 outputs a signal to a switching device 15 whether restarting the loom, shutting down the loom or switching to the second weft yarn feeders 12, 13 and 14.
